As the case has always been with birth control methods the issuing of Plan B coupons has stirred a very strong controversy of its own. However in order to judge that you would need to take a close look at the arguments for which taking Plan B is an immoral act you will notice that they refer to the very old debate of what is a human being and when does a fertilized ovule become a human being. For those that are against Plan B the fertilized ovule is a human being and using Plan B coupons to allow more women to have free cheap access to a way of getting rid of that ovule is the same thing as allowing an abortion.
However there are certain aspects that those who are in favor of the pill and who salute the Plan B coupons would point out. They are pointing out that there are millions of ovules that never make it to the uterus or having made it there they do not find the lining the uterus to be fertile enough and cannot burrow into it. These are all situations that occur naturally and without any external interference. In fact most people who cannot conceive have this issue not because the ovule has not been fertilized but because it has not been able to borrow in the wall of the uterus. Therefore they argue that the latest point where a cluster of microscopic cells could be considered as a primordial form of a human can only be considered thus after it has been able to start its growth in the uterus. And so the Plan B coupons should be made even more readily available since they provide a welcomed chance for two people to leave their lives as they intended to.
The debate about the Plan B coupons will probably rage on for many more reasons because as long as religions create the possibility of a moral superior being there will always be people who believe they are the sole interpreters of that being’s will. However we are lucky enough to live in one of the most exceptional eras in our history when the will of one person or even of a group of persons cannot be imposed on others.
